Environmental and social commitment

Waste water goes from the cottages and the restaurant to separate septic tanks with leach lines. The plastic, glass, & metal garbage is all recycled. Food waste is given to the
locals for pig feed. The hotel owned extensive garden, one of the best in the Amed area, is totally organic. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used. The first project before construction of the cottages & restaurant in 2000 was to reconstruct the village temple just in front of Eka Purnama. In the past Eka Purnama contributed to the local elementary school, contracting a local builder to make badly needed desks & chairs.  Periodic contributions to the main village temple and the village banjar are made. A percentage of the staff is from the local village, the rest from nearby villages.
